Nano Brows in Seoul
Nano brows at Claire Beauty, an English-friendly studio in Sinchon, Seoul, are ₩290,000 for a limited time (regular ₩390,000), and the appointment takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. Results are semi-permanent and usually fade gradually over 1–3 years. Skin heals in about 2–3 weeks, and a touch-up within 6 weeks is complimentary if you need one.
Nano brows are a newer, machine-based hairstroke technique. A single fine needle places pigment in thin strokes that imitate individual brow hairs, so your brows look fuller and more defined while still looking like your own.
- A newer technique: a machine and a very fine needle, instead of a blade cutting the skin as in microblading
- Gentler on the skin: less skin trauma, so redness, scabbing and healing are usually lighter for most clients
- More natural-looking: each stroke can be made close to the thickness of a real brow hair
- Longer-lasting than microblading for most skin types
Results vary with skin type and aftercare.

How nano brows work
We use a digital machine fitted with a single, very fine needle. Instead of cutting the skin, the needle deposits pigment in tiny, controlled movements, which lets us draw strokes in different lengths, thicknesses and directions. Each stroke is placed to follow the way your own brow hair grows.
Because the strokes are layered between your existing hairs, they can fill sparse areas, extend a short tail or even out the shape without covering your brows with a solid block of color.
Nano brows vs microblading
Both techniques create the look of hair. Microblading uses a hand tool fitted with tiny needle blades that slice the skin to deposit pigment. Nano brows use a machine with a single fine needle that works in the upper layer of the skin. For most clients that means less skin trauma, softer and more realistic strokes, and a result that lasts longer than microblading, and it suits a wider variety of skin types, including oily or delicate skin, where microbladed strokes sometimes heal blurry. Microblading can still give a crisp stroke on suitable skin, and we will tell you honestly which suits you. Read about microblading or the full comparison.
Who may be a good candidate
- People with naturally sparse or thin brows who want a fuller, natural look
- People with short or missing brow tails, or uneven brows
- People who spend time filling in their brows every day
- Most skin types, including oily or combination skin
- Some people with faded old brow tattooing (assessed individually)
Nano brows are not suitable for every skin or every situation. We may suggest waiting, a different technique, or advice from a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin condition on or near the brows, are taking medication that affects healing or bleeding, are having medical treatment, or have recently had Botox, filler, laser or other treatments near the area. Please tell us about these before you book.
How we design natural hairstrokes
Design takes a good part of the appointment, and it matters more than any other step.
- Consultation. We talk about how you wear your brows now, what you like and dislike, and how much definition you want.
- Mapping. We measure where your brows should start, arch and end based on your bone structure, eyes and face, then draw the shape on your skin.
- Your approval. You look at the drawn shape in the mirror. We adjust it until you are comfortable. Nothing is tattooed until you agree.
- Color. We match pigment to your natural hair color and skin undertone so the brows heal to a soft, believable shade.
- Strokes. Hair strokes are placed in the direction your hair grows, finer at the front and at the tail.

“Will they look fake?”
It’s the most common worry we hear about nano brows. This client had the same concern.
What to expect on the day
Please allow about 2 hours 30 minutes. That includes consultation, mapping, the procedure and aftercare instructions. Most clients describe the feeling as scratching or light stinging. It is not painless, but it is usually manageable, and we take breaks whenever you need one. The heated treatment bed helps you stay comfortable.
Healing
Healing happens in stages, and it is normal for your brows to look quite different from week to week.

- Days 1–3: brows look darker, sharper and slightly thicker than the final result. Some redness is normal.
- Days 4–10: light flaking and itching. Let the flakes come off on their own.
- Weeks 2–3: strokes can look faint or patchy as new skin forms over them. This is temporary.
- Weeks 4–6: color settles and you can see the healed result. If you are in Seoul, we can check whether you’d like an optional touch-up.
Touch-ups
A touch-up is optional, not required. Many of our clients are visiting Seoul for a short time, so Claire works especially carefully in the first session so that a touch-up is usually not needed. If you are in Seoul and would like one: Complimentary touch-up within 6 weeks of your first appointment (about 30 minutes to 1 hour), for clients who had their original treatment at Claire Beauty. Your skin takes about 2–3 weeks to heal, so the touch-up is booked after that and within 6 weeks of your first appointment. If you’d like to change your touch-up appointment date, please let us know at least 5 days in advance. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, don’t show up, or cancel at short notice, your free touch-up session is forfeited and you’ll need to book and pay for a new touch-up. After that, you can book an annual touch-up for ₩190,000 (about 2 hours) to keep the color and shape fresh.
Visiting from abroad? You don’t need to plan a return trip for a touch-up. Planning around travel
Limitations and risks
Nano brows are a cosmetic tattoo, so there are things you should know before booking:
- Results vary. Skin type, oiliness, sun exposure, skincare and how you heal all affect how crisp the strokes stay.
- Strokes can soften or blur over time, especially on very oily skin.
- Pigment fades and its tone can shift slightly over the years.
- Redness, swelling, and rarely infection or an allergic reaction are possible. Contact a doctor if you notice increasing pain, heat, swelling or discharge.
- Nano brows are semi-permanent, not permanent, and they do not make brow hair grow.
We would rather tell you what nano brows can’t do than have you disappointed with a healed result.

Questions about nano brows
Can nano brows look natural?
Yes, when the stroke direction, thickness, color and shape follow your own brow hair and face.
Fresh brows always look darker and sharper for the first few days. Healed results are softer. Very oily skin, some skin conditions and old tattoo pigment can make strokes heal less crisply, which we will discuss with you beforehand.
How long do nano brows last?
Nano brows are semi-permanent and usually fade gradually over one to three years.
Oily skin, sun exposure, skincare with acids or retinoids, and your own skin renewal all affect how long strokes stay crisp. Most clients book a touch-up roughly once a year to keep the shape and color fresh.
Do nano brows hurt?
Most clients describe a scratching or light stinging feeling. It is not painless, but it is usually manageable.
Everyone's sensitivity is different. Numbing is part of the appointment, we check in with you throughout, and we take breaks whenever you need one.
Can I get nano brows over an old eyebrow tattoo?
Sometimes. It depends on how faded the old tattoo is, its color, and its shape.
A soft, faded tattoo in a neutral tone can often be worked over with new strokes. A tattoo that is still dark, very solid, or has turned red, orange, grey or blue may need to be lightened first by a removal specialist, or may limit what new pigment can achieve. Please send clear photos without makeup so we can give you an honest opinion before you book.
Can I get nano brows if I've recently had Botox, filler or laser?
Possibly, but you may need to wait. Tell us about any recent Botox, filler, laser, peels or other treatments near your brows or eyes before you book.
Botox can change the position of your brows while it settles, and many skin treatments leave the skin more sensitive. We will tell you how long to wait in your situation. If you are unsure, check with the clinic that treated you.
Can I get nano brows during a short trip to Korea?
Often, yes, if the appointment is planned around your healing and travel. A nano brows appointment takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, and the first one to two weeks of healing need some care.
Book as early in your trip as you can, and avoid planning swimming, saunas, hot springs, heavy exercise or long days in strong sun straight afterwards. You don’t need to come back for a touch-up: Claire works especially carefully in the first session so that visitors usually don’t need one. If you are in Seoul again within six weeks and would like one: Complimentary touch-up within 6 weeks of your first appointment (about 30 minutes to 1 hour), for clients who had their original treatment at Claire Beauty. Whether you are suitable depends on your skin, health and any recent treatments, so please message us with your travel dates before you book.
Nano brows, in clients’ words
Claire created incredibly fine, crisp hair strokes that blend seamlessly with my natural brows.
I had a great experience at Claire beauty! I had nano brows done and I really love the result. Claire took the time to meticulously look at my eyebrows and adjust until the result was perfect. She’s also super sweet and speaks good English. I will definitely be back here!
Love my brows- had become very sparse with age and now they are full.
