Semi-Permanent Eyeliner in Seoul

Semi-permanent eyeliner at Claire Beauty, an English-friendly studio in Sinchon, Seoul, costs ₩270,000, and the appointment takes about 2 hours. Results are semi-permanent and usually last about 2–5 years. Skin heals in about 2–3 weeks, and a touch-up within 6 weeks is complimentary if you need one.

Semi-permanent eyeliner adds pigment along the lash line so lashes look fuller and eyes look more defined without daily makeup. We focus on fine, natural lash-line enhancement rather than a bold, drawn-on line.

The procedure

Pigment is placed along the lash line with a fine machine needle. The most subtle option is a lash enhancement, which adds color between the lashes so they look thicker without a visible line. A slightly thicker line can give more definition. We generally recommend fine designs, because heavier lines are more likely to soften and spread over time.

Who it may suit

  • People who wear eyeliner every day
  • People with light or sparse lashes who want more definition
  • People who can’t easily apply makeup, or who are sensitive to eye makeup

Eyeliner isn’t suitable if you have an eye infection, very dry or sensitive eyes, or have recently had eye surgery, including LASIK or eyelid surgery. If you wear lash extensions, they need to be removed first. If you use eye drops for a condition, ask your eye doctor before booking.

Please tell us before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood-thinning medication or isotretinoin, are having medical treatment, have a skin condition in the area, tend to form keloid scars, or have recently had Botox, filler, laser or other treatments nearby. You may need to wait, or check with your doctor first.

Preparation

  • Come without eye makeup, and bring glasses if you wear contact lenses. Lenses must stay out during the procedure.
  • Avoid lash serums for the period we advise beforehand.
  • Plan for some puffiness for a day or two, so avoid booking anything important straight after.

Healing

Eyelids often look puffy for one or two days. The line looks darker at first and may flake lightly in the first week. The healed color settles at around four to six weeks, and you can decide whether you’d like a touch-up. Complimentary touch-up within 6 weeks of your first appointment (about 30 minutes to 1 hour), for clients who had their original treatment at Claire Beauty.

Aftercare

  • Don’t rub your eyes or pick at flakes.
  • No eye makeup, lash curlers or lash serums until healed.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas and heavy sweating for the first week or two.
  • Wait before wearing contact lenses again for as long as we advise.
  • See a doctor promptly if your eye becomes very red or painful, your vision changes, or there is discharge.

Limitations and risks

Results vary, and pigment can soften or spread slightly over time, especially with thicker lines. Swelling is common. Eye irritation, infection or allergic reaction are possible. This is why we keep liner designs fine and discuss them carefully first.
