Ombre Brows in Seoul
Ombre brows at Claire Beauty, an English-friendly studio in Sinchon, Seoul, costs ₩250,000, and the appointment takes about 2 hours. Results are semi-permanent and usually last about 1–2 years. Skin heals in about 2–3 weeks, and a touch-up within 6 weeks is complimentary if you need one.
Ombre brows (sometimes called powder brows) use machine shading to create a soft, makeup-like brow instead of individual hair strokes. They suit people who like the look of lightly filled brows, and they often hold well on oily skin.

How ombre brows work
Instead of drawing individual hairs, we use a machine to build up color in tiny dots. The front of the brow is kept light and the color gradually becomes a little stronger toward the tail, which avoids the heavy, blocky look of older brow tattoos.
Ombre brows vs hair strokes
Hair strokes (nano brows or microblading) imitate individual hairs and look most natural up close. Ombre brows don’t imitate hair; they look like brows lightly filled with powder. Some people simply prefer that look. Shading also tends to hold more evenly on very oily skin.
Who may prefer ombre brows
- People who fill their brows with powder or pencil every day and like that look
- Oily skin or large pores, where strokes may blur
- Some people with faded old tattoos that strokes can’t blend with
Please tell us before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood-thinning medication or isotretinoin, are having medical treatment, have a skin condition in the area, tend to form keloid scars, or have recently had Botox, filler, laser or other treatments nearby. You may need to wait, or check with your doctor first.
Healing
Ombre brows look quite dark and bold for the first week. As the skin flakes, they soften considerably. Expect the healed color at around four to six weeks. Aftercare
Limitations and risks
- Results vary with skin type, oiliness, sun exposure, skincare and healing.
- Pigment fades over time and its tone can shift slightly.
- Redness and swelling are common at first. Infection or allergic reaction is rare but possible; see a doctor if pain, heat, swelling or discharge gets worse.
- It is semi-permanent, not permanent, and does not make hair grow.
