What a lash lift & tint is
Your own lashes are lifted from the root with a gentle setting solution and shaped over a silicone shield, so they curl upward. A tint then darkens them, which makes fine or light lashes much more visible. It isn’t a tattoo and nothing is added to the skin.
It lasts until your lashes naturally shed and regrow, usually around four to six weeks.
Preparation
- Come with clean lashes and no mascara or eye makeup.
- Remove contact lenses before the appointment; bring glasses if needed.
- Lash extensions need to be fully removed first.
- Tell us if you have sensitive eyes, an eye infection, recent eye surgery, or have reacted to hair dye or lash tint before. A patch test may be needed.
During the appointment
You lie back with your eyes closed the whole time. Most people find it relaxing. Appointment length: about 1 hour.
Aftercare
- Keep lashes dry and avoid steam, saunas and heavy sweating for the first 24 hours.
- Don’t rub your eyes or sleep face-down that first night.
- Avoid mascara for the first 24 hours; after that, use it sparingly if you like.
- Oil-based cleansers near the lashes can make the lift drop sooner.
Limitations
How much curl you get depends on your lash length and type. Very short lashes have less to lift. Rarely, the solution or tint can irritate the eyes or skin.
